Cut, the weight loss calorie tracker, is now on the App Store

TLDR Cut is live on the App Store. Photograph your meals, and it measures your real maintenance calories from your own data instead of estimating them, adapting your target as you go. Free on iPhone and Apple Watch, with an optional Pro subscription.

Cut is live on the App Store, free, for iPhone and Apple Watch.

Cut: photograph your food, measure your metabolism.

What it does

Photograph your food. Point the camera at your plate and Cut returns calories, protein, carbs and fat in a few seconds. Everything is editable before you save. There is also barcode scanning, nutrition labels, voice, typing, and one tap to re-log anything you eat often.

It measures what you burn. Most calorie targets come from an equation and a guess about how active you are. Cut works your maintenance calories out from your own data instead, using what you ate against how your weight trend actually moved, and it re-fits as you go. Your target follows your body rather than a formula's idea of it.

It ignores the noise. Daily weight swings on water, salt and sleep, and those swings are bigger than the fat you lose in a day. Cut shows a smoothed trend, not this morning's number, and only the trend feeds the maths.

It shows the working. Tap your target and you can see exactly where it came from, how confident it is, and when it does not have enough data to say. It will not print a number it cannot back up.

It is on your wrist. Log meals, check what is left and weigh in from the Apple Watch app, plus complications, widgets and Siri.

Your data stays yours. No account, no sign-up, no analytics, no ads. Your diary lives on your phone and syncs privately through your own iCloud, and weight comes from and goes back to Apple Health.

What it costs

The app is free, and the parts that cost nothing to run stay free with no cap: logging by hand or barcode, weigh-ins, the measured burn rate, trends, history and export.

Cut Pro is A$19.99 a month or A$99.99 a year, and covers the AI features: photo estimates, the coach, and meal planning.
