HiveNote, an offline beekeeping hive log, is on the App Store

TLDR HiveNote is an offline hive inspection logbook for iPhone. It saves records on the device, works without an account or server, and records what a beekeeper observes without interpreting it. The free version supports one apiary and five hives, with a one-time unlock for unlimited hives, exports and more.

HiveNote is on the App Store, free to start, for iPhone.

What it does

Record an inspection quickly. Every field is optional, with large controls designed for gloved thumbs and high-contrast type for working outdoors. Record the queen, brood, stores, temperament, varroa counts, pest signs, hive weight, actions, treatments, photos and notes without fighting a long form.

Pick up where you stopped. Entries save as you work, so locking the phone or leaving an inspection does not throw away what you have already recorded. The Run the yard workflow moves directly from one hive to the next and resumes an interrupted run.

See the last visit before lifting the lid. Each hive shows the time since its latest inspection and what was recorded. Treatments also collect into their own dated history, separate from the inspection list.

Work with no signal. Records live in a database on the phone. There is no account, server or analytics, and nothing you record is sent elsewhere. You can save a backup file wherever you choose.

A logbook, not an adviser

HiveNote records observations without interpreting them. It does not diagnose a colony, recommend a treatment, or tell a beekeeper when to feed or requeen. Those decisions belong to the beekeeper and the sources they trust.

If you work to a figure from your own source, you can save it in Settings and HiveNote shows it back beside the relevant record exactly as entered.

What it costs

The free version includes one apiary, five hives, every inspection field, full history and backup.

HiveNote Pro is a one-time A$9.99 purchase, not a subscription. It adds unlimited hives and apiaries, PDF and CSV export, photo history and the harvest log. Existing records are never hidden when a free limit is reached.
